Routes, load fill and stock accuracy in logistics and warehousing.
In a warehouse, loss is rarely theft; it is stock nobody can find. When the system count and the shelf count drift apart, a full count becomes the only remedy, and trucks leave half full. Miletus puts stock and dispatch on the same measurement.
The gap between system stock and shelf stock only surfaces at a full count.
How full a vehicle leaves is not measured, so empty volume never shows up as cost.
Routes are built from habit; whether another sequence would be shorter is never tested.
Which bin holds a product lives in people's memory; a new hire cannot find the goods.
Cost per shipment is not calculated, so which customer's delivery is expensive stays unknown.
Goods are found because the person who put them there remembers. A vehicle is loaded until it looks full. The route follows the sequence the driver is used to. When the gap grows, the warehouse stops for a count.
Every receipt, move and issue is scanned, so stock accuracy is measured continuously. Load fill is computed per shipment. Routes are built from the stop list and vehicle constraints. Counting runs zone by zone, without stopping the warehouse.
A synthetic example: bins and zones get printed address labels. On a handheld, receiving, put-away, picking and dispatch are scanned in one flow. Because stock moves post immediately, counting runs zone by zone without stopping the warehouse. The dispatch screen takes stops, vehicle capacity and delivery windows together, and load fill and route length are recorded for every shipment.
